Hi There! Welcome to Camille's Collections (formerly Quahog Tales)! I am Camille, lover of life, family, friends, and
food. I was born in Cranston, RI and now live in Providence. As
some of you may know, RI is a very Italian state, Cranston and Providence
especially! My family is rich with the Italian Culture and Heritage; it's
something I'm very proud of. RI is a big part of my life, having spent
most of my life here.
Life, Family, Friends and
Food are the things that keep me floating day after day.
In life: I am perpetually on the go, and find it
difficult to relax. I have a Bachelors
Degree in Mechanical Engineering from UMass Amherst and a Masters in Business
Administration from Providence College. I am a control freak, no matter
what I may tell you otherwise. I think
part of it is the engineer in me (I feel like I know if something will work or
not, so I usually want it done my way) and I’ve been learning that sometimes, I
just need to go with the flow, enjoy life and the experiences that come my
way. I’ve been working to look on
positive side of life, and hopefully that will become a constant practice. I hope that one day I will be able to
accomplish everything that I want in life.
I love movies, although I am not a huge fan of sitting in the movie
theater. I own more movies than
necessary, and I usually watch only a few of them over and over. I actually have some movies that have yet to
be opened. I can’t get through the day
without some music, and can often be found at work listening to either I Heart Radio or my iPod. I grew up listening to the
Oldie Station with my parents. In my 6th
grade yearbook, I listed “Birthday” and “Back in the USSR” as my favorite songs
(I was pretty obsessed with the Beatles’ White Album at the time). I even wrote a letter to Paul McCartney
asking him to come to my 11th birthday party. In the 8th grade, we had to tell
our favorite music stations in Science class. At the time I was ashamed
to admit that I loved oldies....I pretended that my favorite music station was
92 PRO FM.....And thus started my musical education. I try to be the best person I can be. Often copied, but never duplicated.
In Family and Friends: I can’t live without them. They are the people who have helped shape who
I am today. My family has helped to
raise me, give me the heritage and culture that makes up who I am, and have taught
me about life. My friends have also
helped to raise me, but in different ways.
If it weren’t for them, I would probably be lost.
In Food: Food is my ultimate passion. I love to cook it, bake it and ultimately to
eat it. If I could I would go back to
school to get a degree in cooking and baking.
Over the years, food has become the source of my self-medication and I’ve
been on the path of learning the balance of food and exercise, in order to
optimize the current version of me. I’ve
had my ups and downs with my weight, and I know where I want to be, it’s just
in the execution. But as far as food
goes, I’ll never change WHAT I
eat. I’ll only change HOW I eat it. In my opinion, the food dictates who you
are. I am proud of who I am and I wouldn’t
change a thing (except perhaps, my waist line).
In any case, that’s me, in a
nutshell! Thanks for visiting Camille's Collections, and enjoy the collection of stories that make up who I am!!
